We’ll soon name and shame persons engaged in corruption – Kissi Agyebeng

Vida Essel-LampteyGhana’s Special Prosecutor,Mr Kissi Agyebeng has revealed his office will soon name and shame individuals in the country involved in corruption.
His office will also examine the impact of the various anti corruption initiatives instituted to curb the practice responsible for the loss of millions of cedis in the country.
3news.com report sighted by GhanaPlus.com said Mr Kissi Agyebeng made the disclosure at the launch of the Ghana Corruption League Table in Accra on Tuesday March 22.
“We will be measuring corruption, we will be ascertaining the breeding of corruption, we will be naming and shaming peddlers of corruption, we will be examining the impact of anti corruption initiatives and taking punitive and remedial measures to crack down corruption through prosecution and asset recoveries,” Mr Kissi Agyebeng said.
According to him, all public institutions, departments and agencies will be required to prepare and submit Integrity Plans intended at assessing deficiencies in all their activities to determine their vulnerability and exposure to corrupt practices.
“It is time to move beyond the composite annual ranking of countries on corruption drop list to our own local narrative,” Mr Agyebeng said.
Kissi Agyebeng is Special Prosecutor
Mr Kissi Agyebeng, a private legal practitioner and criminal law lecturer was nominated by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Mr Godfred Yeboah Dame on April 26, as the country’s Special Prosecutor, following the resignation of the Mr Martin Amindu, the first appointee to occupy the office established in February, 2018 to fight corruption in the country.
His appointment, a letter dated April 16 and signed by the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mr Godfred Yeboah Dame announcing his nomination said his selection was in accordance with section 13(3) of Act 959 of the Office of the Special Prosecutor Act, 2017.
He subsequently received a unanimous approval from Parliament after undergoing a successful vetting and sworn in by the President thereafter.
