As the race of whom to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 parliamentary election in Saboba constituency turned to be sky rocketing, the Managing Director (MD) of the Ghana Supply Company Limited (GSCL), Hon.Dr Abraham Binapadam Jawol, last Wednesday filed the nomination forms to contest the party’s parliamentary primaries in Saboba ahead of the upcoming 2024 general election.
Filing the nomination forms, the parliamentary primaries hopeful in the orphan constituency lauded the rank and file of the party including the party leadership in the Saboba constituency for making the processes leading to the primaries simple and understandable for every candidate.
Dr. Jawol, while filing his nomination to contest the party’s parliamentary election in Saboba constituency amidst massive crowd, urged the executives to cast their ballots wisely with free and fair mind in devoid of influence of monetary inducement.
He called for unity among the party faithful and urged the executive to evaluate the capabilities of the candidates before casting their vote to nominate who to lead the part in the constituency.
Dr. Jawol reiterated his readiness and commitment to lead the party recapture the seat from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament to represent the people in the constituency when voted to lead the party in 2024.
Over 300 Hundred electorates and some party constituency executive also trooped on the streets of saboba to rally behind the MD and chanting “a true leader, the hope of Saboba, the Unifier, super competent, and a father of all among other acolytes used in describing the Dr, Jawol as he moves to file the nomination forms.
The Constituency Secretary hon Gedion Bitrime on behalf of the committee received the documents and after going through, he declared that everything is intact hence, hon Jawol Binapadam Abraham can go ahead on his campaign.
He called on the supporters of Jawol to do a clean campaign
Dr Jawol, if sealed through will lead the NPP in the Saboba constituency to hand the party victory in the orphan constituency in the 2024 general election.
The Managing Director, since 2008 continued to pursue the seat and lost to his contender and former Member of Parliament (MP), Charles Bintin who failed to secure his seat to return to Parliament after losing primaries
Mr Jawol Addressing the media after filing the nominations forms, he bemoaned the lack of unity among party hierarchy in the constituency and charged the party elders and supporters bury differences to form a united front for victory 2024.
According him, a united front in the constituency among the leadership to enable the party to fight the NDC in the constituency to hand over power come 2025.
He, however, called on the party executives not to impose any candidate on the delegates but rather give delegates the opportunity to elect their candidate and urged the executives not to be moved by their personal interest rather the interest of the constituents.
He expressed appreciation to the council of elders of the party, constituency executives, electoral area coordinators and the polling station executives and called on them to crown him just as last election.
He called for unity and understanding among the teeming supporters and urged them to bury their differences and work hard for the party, saying a United front was needed to bring them victory.
Dr Jawol assured the supporters that he will mobilise the needed support to energise the grassroots to work hard to achieve its aims and objectives.
