Let’s support Jordan Ayew to rediscover his goal-scoring form – Prince Tagoe to Ghanaians
Former Ghana striker, Prince Tagoe is calling on Ghanaians to support misfiring Jordan Ayew to help the forward rediscover his goal-scoring form.
For club and country combined, the younger brother of Andre Ayew has failed to score a single goal in any competitive match in over 40 matches.
On Sunday night, he was the main striker for Ghana in the 1-0 win against South Africa.
In the first half, he was presented with a fine opportunity to shoot Ghana into the lead but missed the target.
Speaking on that chance, Prince Tagoe has said he believes Jordan Ayew has completely lost his confidence due to the constant criticism.
According to the ex-Hearts of Oak goal poacher, Ghanaians must support the Crystal Palace attacker to get back to his best.
“On a normal day, Jordan Ayew would’ve buried that chance but I think he has completely lost his confidence. It’s clear that the criticisms have affected him but we need to support him to rediscover. He works hard in every game,” Prince Tagoe told Angel TV in an interview.
Despite missing that chance, Jordan Ayew was instrumental for Ghana in the game that ended in a 1-0 win against South Africa.
Courtesy of the result, the Black Stars won Group G and are through to the final stage of the African qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
