Fighting in parliament is better than Ghanaians fighting – Rashid Pelpuo justifies Minority ,Majority clashes

The Member of Parliament for the Wa Central Constituency, Mr Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo has justified the consistent brawls which has graced activities of Parliament in recent times.

According to him, the clash between members of the legislature was a better option than to have the Ghanaian public thrown into a chaotic situation that will affect the country in the long run.

“The people of Ghana are watching, we are doing it on their behalf and because of that they are not fighting each other we are fighting for them inside parliament because of that you don’t see externally people fighting. It is a better approach than to create more chaotic situations in the neigbourhood”.

Mr Pelpuo made the comment on Hot News aired on Pan African TV on Wednesday, December 1 monitored by GhanaPlus.com.

There is no limit when upholding the right of the people – Rashid Pelpuo

Mr… opined there is no limit as far as defending the right of the people and that was what they have been doing as representatives of the people.

“When it come to defending the right of the people it is important for people to realize that there are no barriers to insist on the tenant of our Constitution on the fundamental values of rights and wrongs in this country. Of upholding the rights of people and insisting on it. If you allow the laws of the land to be traduce to be abuse by a systems that is not corrected the bigger danger is going to be that the whole system will be destroyed,” Mr Pelpuo said.

“I will prefer a situation when we have a conflict in parliament and not  to have a coup d’état . I will prefer a situation when people will get and hold each other in parliament and not have the military moving in there. I will prefer where this thing will happen in parliament and we save the money of the country and use it for development rather than put in the pocket of people who will chop the money. I prefer a situation where we will conflict in parliament so the nation does not have people holding gun at each other and fighting. I prefer situation like this than the bigger discomfort we will see out there .I prefer a situation like this than a bigger discomfort out there,” he added.

Mr Pelpuo however, blamed the Majority for the brawls in the house adding they do wrong things using instituted right channels.
