A Security Analyst and Executive Director of Security Warehouse, Adam Bonaa is advocating at least one week incarceration of the Chief Executive Officer of Sekondi-Takoradi for assaulting a police officer.

That he said will teach him a lesson and also force people in the country, most especially, those in power positions to respect authority.

Adam Bonaa made the call on TV3 News@10 on Thursday, February 3, monitored by GhanaPlus.com.

 “…….I am told, I am reliably informed from a reliable source that the MCE is in detention, he is in police custody and tomorrow morning he is going to be process and he will be facing court. Am hoping that tomorrow when he is sent to court the court will do the country that honour by remaining him into police custody or prison custody for a week just so he will learn a lesson,” Adam Bonaa said.

 “Some will say remand should be use as punishment but somehow I think that we must all learn to respect authority, ” Adam Bonaa added.

Sekondi-Takoradi Mayor allegedly arrested for assaulting a police officer, traffic offences

The Metropolitan Chief Executive Officer of Sekondi-Takoradi, Mr Abdul Mumin Issah was a Thursday, February, 3 arrested for an alleged motor traffic offence, verbal assault and offensive conduct against a police officer who was performing his lawful duty.

Viral audio of his assault on the Police Officer has since surface on the various social media platforms across the country.

He has been charged on three (3) counts, assault on a public officer, offensive conduct conducive to breaches of peace and disturbing the peace in a public place.

Mr Abdul Mumin Issah has also been charged for dangerous driving and he is expected to appear in court on Friday, February 4.

Report said he was driving a Toyota Landcruiser with registration number GE 5615 dangerously and carelessly while approaching a police checkpoint at the Kwesimintsim cemetery on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.
