A legal practitioner and law lecturer at the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) Accra, Mr Justice Abdulai has said that the Ministry of Inner-city & Zongo Development should have been called Ministry of Turf Development instead since that was all the ministry have been able to achieve in four years.

“I think that ministry should have been called ministry of turf development because that all they did and that could have been done by the sport ministry,” he said.

Mr Abdulai made the comment on TV3 NewDay on Thursday, February 18 monitored by GhanaPlus.com.

He mentioned constructing astroturf does not equate proper development hence could not be called Ministry of Zongo Development.

The renowned UPSA lecture also indicated the same project could have equally been done by the Ministry of Youth and Sport adding that the government did not need a ministry on it own just to construct astroturf.

“If the President indeed felt something good the President could have created a desk or even a deputy ministerial position at the office of the sport ministry because that is all they did, just the construction of astroturf in the zongos, that all,” the added.

“How the development is properly so called, is good you have given me a descent football park to play however, did you need a minister, a ministry in fact not just a minister, did you need ministry to create that.”

“You created a ministry just to construct KVIP and you tell me this is so important,” he jab.
