A Court of Appeal has set aside the 90-days prison sentence awarded Ghanaian actress and social media celebrity, Rosemond Brown, also known as Akuapem Poloo.

 3news.com report the sentence was set aside on Wednesday, December 15 and fined 1000, 500, and 500 penalty units on the three counts found guilty of.

The fine is expected to run concurrently.

Akuapem Poloo goes back to prison as court dismisses her appeal

The actress was ordered to continue his 90-day jail term slapped on her by an Accra High Court on December 1, after an appealed filed on her behalf was dismissed by the court.

Graphiconline report the Criminal Division of the court presided over by Justice Ruby Aryeetey upheld the court’s decision on grounds the 90-day jail term was not manifestly excessive.

“This court will not interfere and the appeal is therefore dismissed,” Justice Aryeetey was reported to have said.

90-day jail term

The social media celebrity was sentence to a 90-day imprisonment on Friday, April 16 after she was convicted on her on plea on Wednesday April 14.

She pleaded guilty to publication of obscene materials and two count of engaging in domestic violence in a case brought before the court by Child Right International, a child right organisation over nude photos she shared of herself and son.

She was however, granted a GHS80,000 bail on  Tuesday, April 21 with two sureties following as appeal filed by her lawyers.

Additionally, she was to deposit her passport with the court registrar and report to the case investigator every two weeks.

Child Right International sues Akuapem Poloo

It could be recalled the actress was dragged before the court by Child Right International, a child right organization for flaunting nude photos of herself and son on social media to mark the child’s seventh birthday last year June.

“Son today reminds me of the very day I gave birth to you with no stress and with no regret…..30th June 2013 exactly 4:46 am Sunday Haha I still remember this date paa because it’s really meant a lot to me, I only felt the 30 minutes pain when you were turning to come out you were too good to me,” she wrote while sharing the picture in which she was absolutely naked and had her son  on covered in an under pant.
